Today’s video is about making sure you are proactive in helping clients anticipate upcoming decisions they need to make – which helps to reinforce why they can’t live without you!

One of the most valuable things that you can do is to make sure that you are proactive when it comes to keeping on top of what’s going on in clients’ lives.

Now, you’re not going to know what goes on behind the scenes, however, you know some of the things that are going to be happening by virtue of understanding who they are.

So for instance, a great one that I learned from Deena Janes* is, if you have parents (as clients) who have children that are about to finish their daycare years or maybe they’re about to finish their secondary education, then six months in advance, get in touch with them and say “hey, you’re now no longer going to have those extraordinary daycare fees, or those school fees. So we need to sit down and make a plan for what we are going to do with that extra money that you are going to have in your back pocket.”

And you need to do this in advance because, one, it lets them understand that you’re on top of things. You are on top of the things that are happening in their lives – where you need to intervene and give them some advice.

But secondly, it also gives them a level of comfort about what the future can bring and maybe what are some of those extra things that they can spend their money on that they’re not currently doing today.
