Here’s a little about me, the human stuff:

My ultimate role model: Yoda. So wise, is he.

What gives me bubbles in my belly: Funniest home videos or a good blooper video – they’re so real!

Best financial decision: Being offered money or a party for my 21st birthday. I took the money, invested it, grew it and funded a 6-month stint backpacking around Europe with my best friend. Priceless!

What should have scared me, but didn’t: Moving to London at 23 without any money, friends, work or somewhere to live. Funny how you work things out when you want to (or you’re about to live on baked beans and sleep on the streets). Best experience ever!

Fantasy career: A dancer! I’ve no hope of this happening as I have crooked elbows.

What superhero is my superhero? Superman – he has it all.

What could I do as kid that I’m trying to do now? The splits… watch this space!

I remember as stubborn 15-year-old I told my Dad (he was a guru in our industry) I wanted to work for him and being mortified when he said I would have to learn to type. Like his other secretaries!

It was a defining point (one of many) in my life and confirmed my suspicions that when I grew up I wanted to own my own business in the financial advice industry (and get my Dad to work for me – watch this space).

Having spent time as a financial adviser and running my own show since 2010, I understand the frustrations that hold businesses back and I get what needs to be done to turn things around.

Whether it’s a lack of control, not enough time, stagnating profits, too few clients, inefficient operations, or plateauing growth, I get it.

I’ve been there (still there at times), and have the battle scars to prove it.

In 2014 I was honoured to be featured as one of the experts in the inaugural No More Practice’ Business Transformation Series. Off the back of this, I also now mentor participants going through the No More Practice on-line ‘30 day business challenge’, and provide practical advice to help advisers take the next step in their business success.

I sometimes burst (literally, it feels like) with passion and enthusiasm for what I do, whether I’m speaking on stage, commenting in the media, delivering group workshops or privately coaching my aspiring clients.

I cut my teeth in the corporate world for almost 20 years working in various roles across stockbroking, relationship management, financial advising, training and consulting. I did time at NAB/MLC, Credit Suisse First Boston, Citibank, Northumberland Group (UK) and The Money Managers.

Academically I have a Bachelor of Economics degree, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment and an Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning.

But it’s the kudos from my clients that is the most telling. Some credit me with helping them win awards and accolades. Others say I helped transform their business into an industry benchmark. While others regard me as their ‘rock’ and hold me responsible for the success they are enjoying today.

When I’m not working, I’m kept grounded by my three divine boys – two little ones and a hubby (sometimes it feels like I have 3 kids all under 10).

Life, like business, is about compromise, and for now the designer shoes and retail therapy have taken a backseat to football, football and more football.

It rocks! And I couldn’t be happier.

I’m a serial matcha eater who loves humans, tea and chocolates.
I’m crazy organised, software savvy, and have a deep knowledge of digital marketing, including research, customer relationship management (CRM), video editing, web analytics, search engine optimisation (SEO), social media strategy and implementation, website creation and design.

I’m also stunt double for superwoman and love to sing, ‘The Wheels on the Bus’ all day long.
