How to ensure you are easy to find online

Here’s a short video (just under 3 minutes) with a practical idea to help your business grow.

In today’s video, I share one way to make sure you can be easily found when someone is searching on-line.

I’ve bet you’ve heard people say “Oh you’ve got to do your SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) and your analytics, all your meta tagging and all of that… when it comes to making your business more ‘findable’ when people are searching.

Well, if you’re anything like I was, I used to think “yeah, yeah, whatever”.

I didn’t really think that it would make a big difference.

However, I met a guy who does that stuff and we became friends, and he started talking about the benefits of it.

And then we started doing some research where I would pretend I was my own ideal client and I would be searching for me online, and I would spell my business name wrong, I wouldn’t put a space where it was meant to be a space, whatever it might be.

And I for the first time understood, wow, I’m not that easy to find. 

And the thing is, if you’re not that easy to find, it’s kinda like having a retail store and having the blinds closed.

You just wouldn’t do that.  

So if you have got a website, (because you’ve got a business) and you want more people, the kind that are ideal for your business, to find out about you – and if they’re searching for something online you want YOU to be the one that comes up, because they might not always be searching for your business name or your name.

They might be searching for: ‘How do I get life insurance?’ or ‘How do I invest my money with diversification?’, whatever it might be.

But honestly, if you generally want to be more findable out there in the big online world, (which is the way the world works today), I can’t encourage you more than getting someone to look at this properly.

To look at all of the pages on your website and find some of those words that need to go in the backend, (this is all the backend stuff that they do), you certainly don’t need to know how to do it.

But someone who knows what they do, who can do that well, and I’ll put the name of my guy that I’ve been using down the bottom below this video, because he comes to me every month with a report and the difference between the number of visits I get, the amount of time people stick around, but most importantly the number of direct inquiries I now get since he’s done his thing, it’s unbelievable.  

So, if you want more of the type of clients that you do your best work to find you, get this SEO stuff done.

Seriously, it cost me (I don’t know) $500 or $600 dollars, but the return has been so much moreit’s unbelievable.

So whatever you do with that, Make It Count.
