Build a business that makes you proud

PRACTICAL IDEAS TO LEARN, TRY AND DO

If you want to grow your business, stop doing activities you shouldn’t be doing [VIDEO]

Here’s a short video (around 2.5 minutes) to help your business grow.

If you prefer to read it, keep going.

Today’s video is about making sure you focus your valuable time on doing the activities that only you can do… and outsourcing or delegating the rest. It’s smart business.

Are you doing some activities in your business today that you know you shouldn’t be doing

Are you writing Statements of Advice or doing some admin tasks that someone else could be doing at a cheaper rate

Because after all, if you’re sort of $400 or $500, and that’s what you’re worth, and you’re admin or writing Statements of advice, that is very, very expensive in anyone’s books.

Now, there are some things in your business that you have to do.

So, it’s kind of like going to the gym.

If you want to get stronger, you’ve got to do the weights and the exercises.

You can’t outsource them to the gym instructor and expect to get the results.

So there’s some things that you need to do.

Maybe that’s giving advice.

Maybe it’s setting the strategic direction.

Maybe it’s running the business overall or doing the business development.

But you know where you should be spending your time, and you know the activities that you’re doing that someone else could be doing either better or more efficiently or more cost effective.

So I’ve just been doing a video where I was actually doing a testimonial for a business that runs an outsourcing company, and they get staff all around the world for.. or virtual assistants all around the world for businesses just like me.

I’ve been using a virtual assistant now for four years.

It has done wonders for my business

It has allowed me to grow faster than I ever expected.

But most importantly it’s allowed me to stop doing the activities that either I’m not good at, maybe I don’t enjoy, or that I might have been doing but someone else can do it at a cheaper rate and honestly they do it better than me.

It’s changed my views on everything about running a business:

• It’s more efficient.
• It’s more effective.
• Keeps me sane.

And it helps me stay profitable, which means I can build a business that’s going to be sustainable.

So, what are doing in your business that you know you shouldn’t be doing that someone else could do?

And it’s about getting that attitude that if someone else could do it, if you could outsource it or delegate it, then why don’t you?

Spend the time doing what you’re good at and let someone else do the rest.

Anyway, whatever you do with that, Make It Count.
