How to motivate clients to act on your advice

Here’s a short video (just a tad over 2 minutes) with a practical idea to help your business grow. 

I’ve also included the written version if you prefer to read it.  

Give it a go – and make every minute count! 

In today’s video, I share an easy way to motivate clients to ‘take action’ when it comes to your advice.

If you want to get clients really excited about the journey that they’re going on with you, and make it so that they never ever even consider getting off, then it’s really important that you personalise all of the things that you’re delivering to them, the tangible things.   

So, whether it’s contracts, Terms of Engagements, Statement of Advice, FSGs, whatever it might be.  

Now when I say personalise, I don’t mean using their name, because that goes without saying you’re going to use their name.  

I mean thinking about all the imagery your using, making that more personal.  

So, if you have got a Statement of Advice for instance, rather than (like I see) most people have their brand on the front and then Statement of Advice for <client>, Pam & Paul Penny <on this date>.  

That’s not that exciting or inspiring.  

So instead, what about having a cover page that has a picture on it, of them, that would be the best bet.  

Or secondly, of something that they’re aspiring to 

So just say they want to take their kids to Disneyland one day. Then put a picture of Disneyland on that front page of the Statement of Advice and put the title, (you know) ‘Getting your family to Disneyland in 2018 Statement of Advice prepared for Paul & Pam Penny, (whatever I said before), and the date.  

Can you see the difference?  

They then see that cover page and they think ‘Wow! this is all about me.  

This is all about us and our family going to Disneyland.’  

Whatever it might be that’s just an example.  

But think about how you can use relevant imagery in everything you do, like I said not just your Statement of Advice.  

Maybe it’s the Terms of Engagement, maybe it’s a presentation that you’re doing.  

Don’t just have words or have generic ‘stock’ images.  

Have something that’s relevant and specific for your client because then they will feel that you really understand who they are and what they’re all about and that makes the journey they’re going on one they never ever want to end.  

So whatever you do with that, Make It Count.
