Today’s video shares one on the most successful tactics to genuinely help people understand the value of what you do.  


Most of you will be familiar with the marketing tactic around weight loss, which shows you the ‘before’ state, so what someone looks like before they’ve done the diet program or the weight watchers program, whatever it might be.  

But then they highlight the ‘after’ state, so what someone does look like once they’ve gone through that transformation.  

And it’s no different to when a client comes in to seek financial advice.  

If you can help them understand the before state and what it might look like.  

So, the fact that they are overwhelmed, the fact that they are in a financial state of turmoil, that they don’t see the path forward, that they can’t achieve the things that they want to achieve, or look after their family the way that they want to.  

So be really clear on what that ‘before’ state is, because then through your intervention or your ability to help them transform, you can then help them live a certain ‘after’ state.  

And be clear on what that after state is.  

So, be in control of your money, understanding where it all goes, putting it to the best use possible so that you can get the most out of it.  

Being comfortable with the decisions that you make, especially those really nasty financial wants that can be really confusing.   

And look, I can go on for ages and list all the different ones.  

But you need to do it specific to type of clients that you work with.  

The ones that you really look after, and I am sure it will make a bigger difference in their life.  

So, outline what the ‘before’ state is and be very clear on what the ‘after’ state is and voila! you’ve got a beautiful amount of context, conversation, ‘copy’ if you’re doing any marketing that can really have a more powerful impact and get more people understanding the value of financial advice from you
