PRACTICAL IDEAS TO LEARN, TRY AND DO

How to Make an Instant Connection with Prospects

Here’s a short video (just a tad over 2 minutes) with a practical idea to help your business grow.

I’ve also included the written version if you prefer to read it.

Give it a go – and make every minute count!

In today’s video, I share a way to make a connection with a prospective client or business partner as soon as you meet

MAKE IT COUNT – PRACTICAL POINTERS TO GROW YOUR BUSINESS IN ONLY MINUTES

Do you want to know a time and a place where stalking actually works?

It’s before you meet a client, or maybe a potential business partner for the first time.

So, one of the things that I, well I do anyway, but I listen to a podcast and there was a guy interviewed called Sam Ritcher.

So I’m actually pinching some of the language from him. But he talks about before you meet someone, you get online and you Google them, okay you’re probably doing that already.

However, it’s what you do with that information that’s most valuable.

So, when you’ve gone online, you’ve Googled say… a prospect before they’ve come to meet and then you’re sitting in front of them.

Why not say, “Now, I know this might sound weird Mr. client, however, I was stalking you online and I came across this information about you on your LinkedIn profile (for example).

And what I noticed is you do X,Y, & Z and do you know I do that same thing too, how do you find it?”

So, what it does is it gives you an opening for having a conversation with that client about something that is obviously important to them.

So maybe it’s I found out that you went to the same primary school that I went to, isn’t that a coincidence? What a small world.

Did you have this teacher? Who knows, but what that does is wonders for establishing that connection before you get into the nitty gritty of the meeting.

And likewise, if you’re meeting with a prospective business partner you can do the same thing.

“So before I came in today, I actually jumped online, I was doing a little bit of Google stalk on you, and what I found out is we both work with the same type of clients.

We specialise in working with clients who x,y & z.”

So, it’s kind of giving you permission to stalk, but everyone knows you’re allowed to do it.

I mean if someone has a profile online, you’re allowed to look at it, especially if they’ve made it public.

So, give that a go, because it really does, like I say, increase that connectivity very early in the relationship and that does wonders for creating long-term ongoing relationships.

Anyway, whatever you do, get out there and do more stalking and Make It Count.
