PRACTICAL IDEAS TO LEARN, TRY AND DO

Convert More People Into Clients from Your Website

Here’s a short video (just over 2 minutes) with one practical idea to help you grow.

I’ve also included the written version if you prefer to read it.

Give it a go – and make every minute count!

In today’s video I look at one way to increase the amount of people you convert into prospects and clients from your website.

MAKE IT COUNT – PRACTICAL POINTERS TO GROW YOUR BUSINESS IN ONLY MINUTES

I get a lot of people asking me about their website, and in particular, should they be targeting their ideal clients in the copy on their website and through the images and the messaging and everything they’re doing.

Or should they keep it reasonably generic because they don’t know who’s going to be visiting after all.

My answer comes from inspiration through a podcast that I listen to by Michael Kitces.

He’s one of those gurus over in the United States, and he did this podcast where he talks about, if you currently have a website and it’s generic, and let’s say you get 500 visitors come to your website a month and you convert none of them.

Then really, you’ve turned 500 people away.

However, if the wording on that website was far more specific, and if I was one of your ideal clients and the words, and the messages, and the imagery really appealed to me.

Appealed to where I am at in life, maybe what I do, maybe how I do it, maybe my values, my philosophy when it comes to money.

But whatever it is, it really captures me.

Let’s say that by doing it that way, you only get 2 or 3 visitors that convert into prospects or clients.

You’re still 2 or 3 more opportunities of the ideal client than you had when you’re being generic.

So yeah, you might have turned 497 people away but that’s less than 500.

So, my answer always is, speak to the people that you genuinely want more of and make that flow through everything in your website, so that if I am that ideal visitor and I’m on your website:

  • Firstly, I understand exactly what you do.
  • Secondly, I understand what it is for me.
  • Thirdly, I think you ‘get me’… your someone I need to work with.

So, whatever you do with that, Make It Count.
